Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls promptly to departments, physicians, or staff.
• Assist visitors and callers with information and direct to contacts; handle emergency calls.
• Monitor and maintain the telephone system; keep accurate call logs and messages.
• Support communication during hospital emergencies or critical events by coordinating calls and information flow.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain confidentiality.

We are seeking aPBX Operator,also referred to as aSwitchboard Operatoror Communication Operator in our communications department.The PBX Operatoris responsible foranswering the switchboard and overhead pages, greeting visitors, and directing them to theappropriate departments, while alsomonitoringhospital alarms and maintaining knowledge of the policies and procedures for all hospital emergency codes.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls to theappropriate hospitaldepartments, physicians, or staff promptly and courteously


• Assistvisitors and callers by providing information or directing them to theappropriate contacts, and promptly handle emergency calls by connecting them to response teams or on-call personnel


• Monitor andmaintainthe telephone system by reporting malfunctions to technical support and keepingaccuratecall logs and messages for staff and departments


• Support communication during hospital emergencies or critical events by coordinating calls and information flow


• Ensure compliance with hospital policies andmaintainconfidentiality when handling sensitive information
