Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a leadership professional to drive daily operations and staff performance at our Gaithersburg location. You will model a positive culture, coach teams, and ensure top-tier swim instruction and customer service.

The role emphasizes staff onboarding, safety, and operations, with a focus on mentorship and internal growth opportunities within a fun, child-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years management experience required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider preferred.
• Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
• Maintains Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first Aid certification; willing to achieve within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school runs according to GSS SOPs.
• Manages staff to ensure high productivity, performance and positive employee satisfaction.
• Onboarding: trains and oversees new staff to provide superior swim instruction and golden customer service.
• Provides sales and marketing training to qualified staff to promote the program.
• Gains knowledge with software to assist with booking, scheduling, reporting, and admin tasks.
• Helps with pool operations to ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
• Develops employees and coaches from within the team.
• Oversees the Emergency Action Plan and safety procedures and trains staff.
