Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Project Operations Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of the Survey project delivery team. You will drive schedules, manage budgets and contracts, and ensure smooth revenue and project control across multiple projects and disciplines.

The role requires strong Excel skills, delivery of financial reports, and collaboration with project managers, engineers, and administrative staff to improve process efficiency and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• Eight+ years of experience in project operations or operations within engineering/ surveying
• Strong understanding of project financials and contract administration
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams
• Proficiency with project management and accounting systems (Deltek/Ajera/ Vision preferred)
• Advanced organizational, communication, reporting, and Excel skills,

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for assigned project teams
• Manage project setup, documentation, and closeout processes
• Coordinate internal workflows among PMs, survey crews, engineers, accounting, and admin staff
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics with Project Managers
• Oversee billing processes and track contract values, amendments, and change orders
• Monitor accounts receivable and support collections efforts
• Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for leadership
• Administer contracts, subconsultant agreements, and purchase orders
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and client procedures
• Support proposal transitions from pursuit to execution
• Assist with staffing coordination and onboarding of new team members
• Foster collaboration and resolve operational bottlenecks
• Implement standardized tools and workflows for project execution
• Provide guidance to project administrators and coordinators
• Partner with managers and leads to drive process improvements
• Support a service-oriented team culture
