Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Project Operations Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of the Survey project delivery team. You will drive schedules, financial performance, and continuous improvement across multiple projects and disciplines.

You will oversee project setup, staffing coordination, contracts, and compliance while enabling technical professionals to focus on client work. This is a full-time role in California with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Eight or more years in project operations or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of project financials, billing, and contracts.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for project teams.
• Manage project setup, documentation, and closeout processes.
• Coordinate internal workflows among project managers, crews, engineers, and staff.
• Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, forecasts, and metrics.
• Oversee billing processes and track contract values and change orders.
• Monitor accounts receivable and support collections to maintain cash flow.
• Prepare financial reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Administer contracts, subconsultant agreements, and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with insurance, procedures, and client requirements.
• Support transitions from pursuit to execution with smooth handoffs.
