Job summary

BKF, a multi-service infrastructure consulting firm, seeks a Project Operations Manager for the Survey project delivery team. You’ll oversee administrative operations, budgets, contracts, and staffing across projects to enable engineers and surveyors to deliver high-quality client work.

You will build efficient processes, monitor performance metrics, and mentor project administrators, while maintaining strong collaboration with PMs, managers, and staff across BKF’s offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 8+ years in project operations, administration, or business operations.
• Strong understanding of project financials, billing, and contracts.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with project management and accounting systems (Deltek/Ajera/Vision or similar).
• Advanced organizational, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in engineering or land surveying firms preferred.
• Knowledge of public agency contracts and IDIQ/on-call programs preferred.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for assigned project teams, ensuring consistency with company standards.
• Manage project setup, documentation, filing systems, and closeout processes.
• Coordinate internal workflows among project managers, survey crews, engineers, accounting, and admin staff.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics with Project Managers.
• Oversee billing processes and access to timely cash flow.
• Track contract values, amendments, and change orders.
• Prepare regular financial reports and leadership dashboards.
• Administer contracts, subconsultant agreements, and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and client procedures.
• Support proposal transitions from pursuit to execution with complete documentation.
• Assist staffing across projects to balance workloads and utilization.
• Support onboarding of new team members to projects and systems.
• Foster cross-disciplinary communication to resolve bottlenecks.
• Identify opportunities to streamline project delivery and improve efficiency.
• Develop standardized tools and workflows to ensure consistent execution.
• Provide operational guidance to project admins and coordinators.
• Partner with PMs and technical leads as a trusted operations advisor.
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture.
