Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Project Operations Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of the Survey project delivery team. The role focuses on workflows, financial controls, staffing coordination, contracts, and compliance to let technical staff deliver high-quality client work across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include budgeting, billing, procurement, reporting, and onboarding, with travel to BKF locations and client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering Management, or related field.
• Eight+ years in project operations, administration, or business operations within engineering/surveying/consulting.
• Strong understanding of project financials, billing practices and contract administration.
• Experience with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with project management and accounting systems (Deltek/Ajera/Vision preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for assigned project teams and ensure consistency with standards.
• Manage project setup, documentation, filing, and closeout processes.
• Coordinate internal workflows among project managers, survey crews, engineers, accounting, and admin staff.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics with project managers.
• Oversee billing processes and track contract values, amendments, and change orders.
• Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Administer contracts, subconsultant agreements, and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with insurance provisions and client procedures.
• Support staffing coordination and onboarding of new team members.
