Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team under RN supervision. The role includes scrubbing, instrument handling and assisting in various procedures, with emphasis on sterile technique and patient care.

The position offers sign-on and relocation bonuses. Education paths include an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification, plus BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and demonstrates perioperative knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis principles.
• Coordinates supplies and equipment for efficient department.
• Communicates with nursing staff and other units; documents patient data accurately.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests, diagnoses, and exams as needed.
• Preps patients and assists with room turnover and instrument readiness.
