Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as a first, second, or assisting scrub tech under RN supervision. You will prepare sterile fields, assist with instruments, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires completion of an Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certification, BLS within 30 days, and a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sterile technique. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days (American Heart Association).
• Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile technique to preserve a sterile field.
• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Facilitates communication between units and nursing staff; serves as liaison to ensure tests, exams or problems are addressed.
• Collects data and documents patient records per unit standards.
• Transcribes orders accurately and schedules tests and appointments.
