Job summary

Carle Health in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, perform operative and invasive procedures, and mentor peers. You’ll prepare the sterile field, set up cases, and ensure the instruments, sutures and equipment meet case needs across multiple specialties.

The role emphasizes teamwork, on‑call availability, and ongoing learning through certification and hands‑on training in a Magnet‑designated system that prioritizes quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• BLS certification completed within 30 days.
• Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Accepts new grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Assemble instruments and ensure sterility and readiness for cases.
• Set up the case to allow others to step in organized back table.
• Mentor RNs and other technologists to prepare for procedures.
• Assist in first scrub, first assist, and second scrub roles.
