Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, prepare operative fields, and train students and staff. This role involves scrubbing, assisting in a variety of procedures, and precepting other techs and RNs to ensure efficient, safe operations across cases.

The position supports mentorship, on-call coverage, and integration of certification to raise team performance. A sign-on bonus and relocation bonus are available to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology
• Accepts New Grads for this role

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate execution.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in before the patient enters the room.
• Assist with organizing back table and mayo stand for efficient cases.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate case needs and adjust as required.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for procedures.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and maintain calm during intraoperative events.
• Be available for on-call hours outside regular schedule per policy.
