Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support perioperative teams as a first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under RN supervision. Role involves maintaining sterile technique, organizing supplies, and collaborating with surgeons and OR staff.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology training, with BLS certification within 30 days. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates problem-solving in relation to procedure performed.
• Applies basic anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment using aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for cost-effective operation.
• Facilitates unit communication and coordinates tests or procedures with nursing staff.
• Documents patient data per unit standards and guidelines.
• Transcribes physician orders and schedules tests and appointments.
• Prep patients and assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Maintains accurate patient charts and logs.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to prepare trays and instruments.
