Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under the supervision of an RN. The role centers on asepsis, instrument prep, and collaboration with surgeons to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certificate, and BLS certification within 30 days. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology.
• Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Applies the principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficiency and cost control.
• Facilitates communication between units and nursing staff.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by RN and standards.
• Documents accurately in patient records as directed.
