Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a scrub or circulator under RN supervision. You’ll assist with procedures, maintain sterile technique, and coordinate supplies for efficient operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with surgeons and OR staff to ensure proper trays, instrumentation, and patient care from pre-op to post-op. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and demonstrates problem solving in procedures.
• Applies anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology knowledge for patient care.
• Utilizes sterile technique and collaborates with the OR team.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and aseptic technique during procedures.
• Coordinates supplies and equipment for efficiency and cost control.
• Facilitates unit communication and notifies staff of patient needs and tests.
• Documents patient data accurately in charts and records.
• Transcribes orders and schedules appointments and tests.
• Prepare patients for transport and assist with activities of daily living.
• Keeps accurate log of admissions, discharges and transfers.
