Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a first, second, or assisting technician under the direct supervision of the RN. You will support surgeons and the OR team with sterile prep, instrument readiness, and patient care coordination.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certificate, with BLS certification within 30 days. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology certificate.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Independent scrubbing of basic surgical procedures and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis throughout procedures.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient operation.
• Facilitates communication between unit and departments; relays tests and patient needs.
• Documents data and orders accurately in patient records.
• Transcribes orders and manages scheduling for procedures and tests.
• Prepares patients for transport and assists with activities of daily living.
• Maintains logs of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assists with room turnover and instrument sterilization.
