Job summary

Methodist Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in the delivery of quality surgical care. You will gather and prepare sterile supplies, assist the surgeon, and maintain the sterile field under supervision of the circulating nurse.

Minimum education: high school diploma or GED; certification required (CST or TS-C). Experience not required unless substituting education per policy.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program OR hires prior to 9/1/2009 may substitute with 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
• Experience: None required (unless used in lieu of education as stated above).

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by anticipating surgeon/procedure needs and coordinating with circulating perioperative nurse.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies and equipment; prepare/maintain the sterile field.
• Supply sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field in a safe, efficient manner.
• Perform routine scrub role as delegated and follow current standards and policies.
