Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center, part of Ardent Health Services, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique and assist the surgical team during procedures, utilizing knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and instrument care to ensure patient safety.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, NBSTSA or NCCT certification, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS within 14 days of hire. One year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist.
• High School diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, anatomy and physiology, use and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist the surgical team in accomplishing the plan of surgical care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Understand the surgery schedule workflow and be available to meet the needs for room turnovers, patient transport, and cleaning.

Education

Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program

NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist

High School diploma or GED

BLS certification within 14 days of hire
