Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support high-quality surgical care. You will anticipate surgeon needs, prepare sterile supplies, and maintain the sterile field during procedures, following AORN standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and either graduation from a surgical technologist program or prior hospital experience for those hired before 09/01/2009. Certification is required for CST or TS-C status.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program; or prior hospital surgical technologist experience if hired before 09/01/2009.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by anticipating surgeon/procedure needs and coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse.
• Gathers and prepares sterile supplies and equipment; maintains the sterile field and supplies the surgeon.
• Follow current AORN and regulatory standards and facility policies.
