Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program; prior hospital experience acceptable if hired before 09/01/2009.
• Certifications per HB 643 may be required for practice since 09/01/2009.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by anticipating surgeon needs.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies and instruments; maintain sterile field.
• Provide sterile instruments to the sterile field and assist the surgeon.
• Follow current AORN and regulatory standards and hospital policies.
