Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support safe, efficient operating room care. The Surgical Technologist assists with sterile supplies, prepares the field, and supports the surgeon and perioperative nurse, following AORN standards and hospital policy.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED; surgical technologist program graduate or acceptable prior experience; certification such as CST or TS-C is required;

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED is required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program; or hired before 09/01/2009 may substitute with 1 year of hospital surgical technologist experience.
• Experience: none required unless used as above substitution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by planning for surgeon/procedure needs and coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies and equipment, maintain the sterile field, and hand instruments to the surgeon.
• Perform routine scrub duties and follow current AORN standards and system policies.
