Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as an integral member providing support as the first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under RN supervision. The role emphasizes asepsis, instrument handling, and collaboration with surgeons to prepare trays and equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and assist in aseptic technique.
• Organize supplies, equipment and instrument sets for procedures.
• Facilitate communication between surgical team and nursing staff.
• Document patient information and assist with room turnover.
• Prepare patients for transportation and assist with intraoperative duties.
