Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. The role may function as the first, second, or assisting scrub tech or second circulator under the direct supervision of an RN. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

You will apply aseptic technique, assist with supplies and equipment, coordinate patient prep and transport, document accurately, and collaborate closely with surgeons and the OR team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• Surgical Technology program completion or certification required.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assists with supplies and equipment to support efficient turnover.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to prepare trays and instrumentation.
• Documents procedures and patient data accurately.
• Transports patients and assists with activities of daily living.
• Gathers and organizes items for the perioperative area.
