Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as an assistant or second circulator under RN supervision. The role requires operating with asepsis and assisting in supplies, instrumentation, and patient care within the operating room.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification within 30 days, with focus on sterile technique and perioperative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or surgical technology certificate required.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Strong knowledge of asepsis, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis to keep a sterile environment and demonstrates competency in selected skills.
• Assists in organizing supplies and equipment for efficient, cost-effective operations.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure.
