Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as a first, second, or assisting technician under RN supervision. The role features a sign-on bonus and relocation bonus.

The technician independently scrubs basic procedures with a solid grounding in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology. You will support asepsis, instrument readiness, and team collaboration throughout the surgical day.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care.
• Applies knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers in perioperative care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork.
• Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment through asepsis with competent skills.
• Organizes supplies and equipment to keep the department efficient.
• Facilitates unit communication with nursing staff and other departments.
• Collects data in patient records per performance standards.
• Transcribes orders accurately; schedules tests and exams; maintains charts.
• Prepares patients for transport and assists with activities of daily living.
• Keeps accurate logs of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Ensures patient charges are entered in the system.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team on trays and instruments.
