Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Manhasset OR. This full-time, day shift role works under the direction of a licensed nurse to scrub on procedures and assist the physician.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, NBSTSA-accredited program, and certification on hire. Preferred: 1–2 years CST experience; NYU Langone Surgical Tech Program graduate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required on hire.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the operating room under RN direction.
• Assist the physician in procedural areas and manage instruments and supplies.
• Ensure proper identification and handling of specimens; maintain aseptic technique.
• Communicate counts and instrument status to the RN Circulator and team.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
