Job summary

BayCare in Winter Haven, FL seeks a Surgical Technologist Non-Certified (PRN) to support perioperative care under RN supervision, ensuring sterile technique and readiness for procedures.

You will prepare the OR, instruments, supplies and patient for surgery, coordinate specimen handling, and assist with sterile supply inventory. Minimum credentials include a surgical technology program completion, NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of military or hospital-based training with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patient for surgery.

Description

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Requirements:
