Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support perioperative care under RN supervision. You will prepare the OR, instruments, and sterile field, and assist with specimen preparation and inventory.

Part-time, evening shift 6:45pm–7:15am, weekends every other, no on-call. Requires accredited Surgical Technology program or military/hospital training with 5 years acute-care experience, NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of military or hospital-based training with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: Winter Haven Womens

Status: Part Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:45pm - 7:15am

Weekend Work: Every Other

On Call: No

Requirements
