Job summary

BayCare's Morton Plant in Clearwater is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our surgical services team. The successful candidate will support the perioperative team under RN supervision, prepare equipment and sterile fields, and assist with specimen handling and inventory management.

Requirements include an accredited surgical technology program or military/hospital training with 5 years acute care experience, NBSTSA or NCCT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details:

Location: Morton Plant

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements:
