Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a part-time role at St Josephs Womens in Tampa. The technician will support the perioperative team under RN supervision, preparing the OR, instruments, and supplies to maintain a sterile field.

Requirements include completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military/hospital training with 5 years acute care experience, NBSTSA/NCCT certification, and BLS. Competitive benefits offered.

• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Description

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Location: St Josephs Womens

Status: Part Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm

On Call: Yes

Requirements:

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
