Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care during operative procedures. The role involves assisting surgeons, training technologists and students, and serving as a lead resource as needed.

Qualifications include an associate degree or certificate in surgical technology and BLS within 30 days. New grads welcome. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entering the room.
• Set up case so others can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Collaborate with surgeon prior to case and adjust as necessary.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for procedures.
• Run mayo and assist in first scrub/first assist roles as needed.
• Plan for intra-op events and respond calmly to changes.

Education

Associate‘s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
