Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, prepare operative fields, and support team members across diverse procedures. You will scrub and assist in various cases, ensuring sterility and efficiency while mentoring newer staff.

Requirements include an Associate's degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS certification, with a welcoming stance toward new grads. Relocation and sign-on bonuses are available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Associate's degree or certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Accepts new grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures timely and efficiently.
• Instruments, equipment and sutures are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to patient entering the room.
• Set up case so someone can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Use resources wisely, avoid unnecessary openings and ensure timely case setup.
• Collaborate with surgeon prior to case and adjust as necessary.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon-specific procedures.
• Scrub on simple to complex procedures for a variety of specialties.
• Able to run mayo independently and adapt to surgeon preferences.
• Plan for intra-op events and respond to unexpected changes.
