Job summary

Carle Health in Hartford, CT invites an experienced Surgical Technician to join our operating room team. You will assist surgeons, prepare case carts, maintain sterile fields, and train students and junior staff as needed.

The role requires Certified Surgical Technology or related credential, BLS, and the ability to adapt to multiple specialties while supporting efficient, safe patient care. A sign-on and relocation bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Education: Surgical Technology certificate and associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timeliness and accuracy.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient enters the room.
• Set up case to allow an organized back table and Mayo stand for teammates.
• Ensure appropriate items are available and ready for use.
• Use resources wisely and avoid unnecessary openings.
• Maintain fluid, efficient motions during procedures.
• Keep setup times within acceptable ranges for various case types.
