Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist during operative procedures and collaborate with surgeons and RNs. The role involves preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile field and supporting multiple case types while ensuring patient safety and efficient turnover.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification, with others including the possibility of training for new grads.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days.
• Associate's degree or Surgical Technology certificate required.
• New grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient enters.
• Run mayo independently and adapt to surgeon preferences.
• Precept staff and students in planning for surgical events.
• Assist with case closing activities and turnover.
• Communicate and collaborate to ensure equipment and cards are available for cases.
