Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and support operative/invasive procedures. The role includes scrubbing, preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and mentoring other staff. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA)
• Education: Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely, accurate, efficient performance.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to patient entering room; ensure instruments and supplies are complete and functional.
• Run back table and mayo setup to enable smooth transitions between roles.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate case needs and adjust accordingly.
• Precept and mentor RNs and other staff; teach RNs to scrub on various cases.
• Perform case closing activities (dressing, transfer, turnover) and assist with instrument and equipment availability.
