Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to assist surgeons during operative procedures and train others as a lead technologist when needed.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile fields, running cases, teaching RNs and students, and ensuring timely, accurate intraoperative support across multiple specialties. This role requires BLS within 30 days and an associate’s degree or certificate in surgical technology.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in.
• Set up case so others can step in with an organized back table and mayo.
• Have appropriate items available.
• Use resources wisely and avoid unnecessary openings.
• Motions are fluid and not redundant.
• Set up time for various case types within acceptable range.
• Collaborate with surgeon and adjust as needed.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for procedures.
