Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, prepare sterile fields, and support operating room teams in a busy perioperative setting. The role involves scrubbing, instrument handling, and helping the team run cases efficiently.

The position requires an Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS certification; new grads are welcome and mentoring will aid development. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
New grads welcome.

Responsibilities

Prepare for surgeon specific operative/invasive procedures that’s timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
Set up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
Set up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
Have appropriate “have available” items.
Uses resources wisely, avoids unnecessary opening.
Motions are fluid and not redundant.
Set up time for a variety of case types is within acceptable range.
Aware of and is prepared for case needs, i.e. two mayo’s.
Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary.
Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon specific procedures.
