Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care. You will assist surgeons, set up sterile fields, and mentor peers across multiple specialties. This role requires BLS within 30 days, and an accredited Surgical Technology certificate with an Associate's degree.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology and an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timeliness and efficiency.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete, functional and ready.
• Set up sterile field; scrub and assist during procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeon and adapt to case needs; mentor junior staff.
• Perform first scrub, first assist and second scrub roles as needed.
• Handle case turnover and postoperative dressing/application.
