Job summary

Baylor Medical Center Lake Pointe- Rowlett is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 for day shift in the Surgery unit. You will support the surgical team by preparing instruments and equipment and ensuring a safe operating room under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, sterile technique, patient prep, counts, and assisting with draping and specimen handling to help deliver efficient surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• BLS certification required.
• Current CST certification preferred.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to maintain sterile technique and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operative site and instruments.
• Scrub into surgery and prep instruments.
• Set up the operating room and maintain instrument table.
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Pass sterile supplies to surgeons and assist with draping and positioning.
• Receive specimens and manage specimen transfer.
• Maintain inventory and document equipment and supplies.
