Job summary

Baylor Medical Center Lake Pointe- Rowlett is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist in the operating room under RN supervision, preparing instruments and maintaining a ready sterile field for the surgery unit. This full-time day shift role requires collaboration with the surgical team, accurate instrument counts, proper draping, and adherence to infection control and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• CST certification required or eligible; military/public health service training acceptable.
• Less than 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Scrub into surgeries to prepare instruments and set up sterile field.
• Prepare and drape patient; maintain organized instrument table.
• Count sponges, sharps, and instruments per policy.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Assist surgical team with passing instruments and supplies as needed.
• Follow infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
