Job summary

Baylor Medical Center Lake Pointe- Rowlett is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 for the Day shift in the Surgery unit. The role supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting with patient positioning and specimen handling.

The ideal candidate has completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program and NBSTSA/CST certification, with a focus on infection control and aseptic technique. Benefits include day-one eligibility and competitive health coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a CAAHEP-accredited or equivalent surgical technologist program.
• Minimum experience as surgical technologist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team before, during, and after procedures to ensure instrument availability and proper setup.
• Scrub into surgeries timely; prepare operative site and maintain instrument tables.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; perform counts and handle specimens per policy.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and specimen transfer to uphold sterile field.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and document usage and disposal of sharps and wastes.
