Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team. This role requires scrubbing, instrument setup, and adherence to infection control standards under RN supervision.

You will prepare the sterile field, assist the surgeon, and help ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Ideal candidates will have graduated from an accredited surgical technology program, hold CST certification, and maintain BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Current BLS certification at hire or within 30 days.
• Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Discuss any special needs with the surgeon before surgery and scrub in on time.
• Prepare and maintain the instrument table and supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments according to policy.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and specimen handling as required.
