Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room and ambulatory procedures. You will maintain sterile technique, prepare instrumentation, and assist surgeons under RN supervision.

Level I suits new graduates; Level II offers mentoring and progression within the unit. A accredited Surgical Technology program or military training is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or has NBSTSA/NCCT certification.
• Level I is for new graduates with up to 18 months' experience.
• Level II provides advancement opportunities within the unit.
• Basic knowledge of sterile technique and instrumentations is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and ensure team maintains sterile environment.
• Prepare operating room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Assist with procedures and pass instruments safely under RN/ physician direction.
• Perform counts of sponges, needles and instruments accurately.
