Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support preoperative and ambulatory procedures. The role emphasizes sterile technique, preparation of the operating room, and collaboration with the surgical team in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

New graduates or those with 0–18 months experience are considered for Level I, with growth toward Level II and ongoing BLS certification as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Or evidence of successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military.
• Level I requires BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties with Service Excellence toward patients, physicians, peers and other departments.
• Uphold department and organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure a sterile environment.
• Prepare Operating Room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Assist in patient preparation and postoperative instructions as applicable.
