Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking Surgical Technologists to support operating rooms in Durham, NC. The role includes maintaining sterile technique, preparing the OR with instrumentation, and assisting surgeons under supervision of a nurse or physician.

Opportunities exist for Level I and II advancement with structured training. Eligible candidates should have a Surgical Technology program credential (or equivalent military training) and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required for Level I/II.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain sterile field and ensure team maintains sterile environment.
• Prepare Operating Room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Assist with multiple cases and coordinate case preparation and instrument counts.
