Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team at South Florida Baptist Hospital. You will prepare the OR environment, instruments, and patients to maintain a sterile field, under RN supervision, and assist with specimen handling and supplies management.

This full-time position includes on-call duties, occasional weekend work, and the opportunity for extensive mentorship, career growth, and comprehensive benefits in a busy acute-care setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist supports the perioperative team under RN supervision to maintain sterile technique and readiness.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies and may assist in patient transport.

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.

• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.

• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.

• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details:

Location: South Florida Baptist Hospital

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:45am - 5:15pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements:
