Job summary

BayCare in Clearwater’s Morton Plant is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist. This full-time role supports perioperative care under RN supervision, preparing equipment and maintaining sterile fields. You will coordinate specimen handling, assist with inventory, and may help transport patients. Required certifications include BLS and CST or TS-C, with options for military training or hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military equivalent.
• Hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery - Certified NCCT (TS-C) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
