Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, is seeking a Surgical Tech to support operating room services across locations. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather sterile supplies, and maintain aseptic technique while assisting with patient care and staff orientation.

This position requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program and two years of experience in multiple specialties, with flexibility to float to UCI Health sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepares and stocks the OR before and after surgery; gathers clean and sterile supplies.
• Sets sterile instrument fields and maintains aseptic technique.
• Assists with orientation of new staff and participates on departmental committees.
• Floats to all UCI Health locations as needed.
