Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist with direct patient care in the Operating Room. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather sterile supplies, set sterile fields, and uphold aseptic technique while supporting staff orientation and departmental committees.

Requirements include two years of surgical technologist experience in acute care, completion of an accredited surgical technology program, and ability to float to all UCI Health locations.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room and prepare and stock the OR.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies, set sterile instrument fields, and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
