Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a focused Surgical Tech to support the Operating Room team. You will prepare the OR, stock supplies, and help maintain sterile technique to ensure efficient patient care.

Required are a high school diploma, BLS certification, and six months of acute care experience or relevant training, plus strong English communication and teamwork skills within a large academic health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Six months acute care experience as an OR Tech or graduate from an accredited OR Tech program.
• Ability to maintain aseptic techniques and assist with patient care duties.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace and collaborate with health-system staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies and set sterile instrument fields.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor safety standards.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
• Demonstrate effective communication within the Health System.
