Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a qualified Surgical Tech to assist with direct patient care in the OR and ensure sterile technique across locations in Orange County. The role requires stocking, instrument setup, and adherence to aseptic standards, with responsibilities including orientation support and committee participation.

Candidates should have a accredited surgical technology program and two years of OR experience across specialties, plus strong English communication and medical terminology skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties.
• Completed an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Must float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields.
• Maintain and monitor aseptic techniques.
• Assist with orientation of new staff.
• Participate on departmental committees.
