Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather sterile supplies, set instrument fields, and maintain aseptic technique while supporting new staff orientation.

This role requires float coverage across UCI Health locations and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Two years of surgical technologist experience in acute care, completion of an accredited surgical technology program, and English

Qualifications

• Two years of surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Ability to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting preferred
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields.
• Maintain and monitor aseptic techniques.
• Assist with the orientation of new staff.
• Participate on departmental committees.
